We entered into this rice export business in 2012 and we have successfully added reprocessing Plant with 5 Tons per hour capacity. This “GrainCo International” in Pakistan is known for producing best quality rice and is successfully supplying all rice qualities within and outside Pakistan in to Middle East and other part of regions. It’s quality is well appreciated by the Gulf buyers. Beside reprocessing rice plant, we have also “Rice milling facilities/lines” with production capacity of 5 tons each. We are equally efficient and capable of supplying brown, white and parboiled processed rice so please do remember this GrainCo company as Jake of all Grains trade but master in Rice.
We claim “not new” in this rice export business as our management hired skilled, highly educated and well experienced staff having rice export back ground. All staff is well aware of quality management and food safety policy. Our strength are our team, our plants, our quality and our commitment. We can prepare all standards and colors of white and parboiled rice depending upon the requirement of the buyer.
Experienced and well trained personnel are appointed for the selection of best paddy, with healthy grain. Paddy is thoroughly examined and only the pure and finest paddy free from any mixing of inferior varieties is selected. GC buy, pure paddy directly from the farmers. Paddy samples are analyzed in the laboratory and are approved if these match GC specifications.
As the paddy arrives at GC, Paddy Cleaners remove impurities such as straw, dirt and debris. Unhealthy and immature grains are also blown off during paddy cleaning.
Sometimes paddy is subjected to steam before soaking. This process of pre- steaming softens the paddy. Pre-steaming is carried out according to the need of variety or customer’s demand.
The paddy is soaked in the huge water-filled vessels at a particular temperature for a specific period of time. Special care is taken during soaking as different varieties require different water temperatures.
The soaked paddy is then transferred to the steaming vessels where it is kept at a certain temperature for a short time.
Drying of the paddy is carried out in two steps. Firstly, it is dried in the Pre-Dryer and the paddy moisture is reduced to a certain level. Secondly, paddy is shifted to the Column Dryer for further reduction in moisture. The modern technology of “smoke free hot air, generated through steam heat exchangers”, is used to dry the paddy at these dryers.
The dried paddy enters the milling section. The first step of milling is the removal of husk and the whole grain that remains after husk removal is brown rice (from the Parboiled rice). Its light brown color is caused by the presence of the rice germ and several bran layers.
Two different types of machines are used for Whitening of rice:
Both of these machines remove bran layers of rice grains, creating abrasive and friction forces respectively, thus revealing smooth glittering rice.
Broken, smaller and shrivelled grains are separated from the head rice by using Plan Sifters, Width & Length Graders. Great care is taken to ensure the uniformity in size.
|Parboiled Unit:||50 M.Tons / day (Paddy)|
This process is different from the “Paddy to Parboiled rice” process in a way that paddy is transferred to the drying section after “Paddy cleaning” without being subjected to “Soaking” and “Steaming.”
Then “Milling”, “Whitening” & “Grading” of the rice is conducted as in the “Paddy to Parboiled rice” process with the difference that Husk Aspirators & Separators are used in “Paddy to White rice” process.
Basmati White Rice is quite delicate unlike Parboiled Rice, so it needs special attention & care in order to minimize its breakage during milling.
|Milling Unit:||5.00 M.Tons / hour|
Rice passes through different stages of cleaning to ensure a hygienic product. Foreign materials like dust, stones, metals, and threads etc. are removed during these steps.
Rice is then passed through Mist Polisher, which employ water to give it a fine, silky and glossy look.
Thickness and Length Grading is performed in order to separate broken, small and shriveled grains from the head rice, Length Graders. Width Graders and Plan Sifters are used to achieve the goal; i.e. uniformity in size.
Discolored and damaged grains are removed by Color Sorter in order to ensure the high quality of the product. To achieve this goal GC has installed the Chinese Color Sorter and going for buying new high tech color master for new processing line.
|Rice Processing Unit:||5.00 M.Tons / hour|
Basmati, gets better with age. All GC basmati brands are aged for more than 18 months to enhance and intensify their taste, bouquet and cooking characteristics. Because of the aging process, Basmati rice cooks fluffier and with separate grains, appreciated by connoisseurs of fine rice.
The Company’s commitment to quality and meeting all international standards is demonstrated at every stage of the process of rice production – from sourcing to processing and from aging to packaging. All the processes for drying, sorting, grading and detection/removal of foreign bodies are online and fully automatic. At no stage in the entire milling and packaging process is the rice ever touched by hand, ensuring total hygiene and cleanliness. Lastly, all production is DNA tested for total purity.
